Our client is a highly successful independent merchant banking and financial services group. They seek an Operations Risk Manager to implement regulatory/risk/efficiency based projects related to retail and corporate deposit raising. These include a number of high profile customer authentication and anti-fraud projects. This individual will also act as the second in line to the Operations Director
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Understand and document regulatory/risk/compliance policies in line with the requirements of strategic compliance Liaise with the business and develop strong communication channels for new and changing compliance procedures Implement and assist with implementation of regulatory/risk projects and to actively communicate progress, liaising with the appropriate teams within Treasury Operations, including Customer Services, Customer Administration, Treasury Administration and Systems Development In conjunction with Treasury Compliance, train staff and produce training materials in accordance with policies and procedures Maintaining an ongoing training programme for staff to ensure continued awareness of regulatory risk requirements Oversee and champion new processes for Customer Authentication, Know Your Client, Anti Money Laundering and Fraud Prevention, including defining, documenting and implementing these processes in line with Treasury Compliance requirements Keep up to date with the current legal regulatory framework and ensure compliant with the relevant legislation and guidance issued by the FSA Carry out regular regulatory risk assessments, ensuring that necessary follow on actions are implemented and that operational procedures are updated to reflect these Ensure that the appropriate controls are in place to mitigate regulatory, AML and fraud risks. Regular monitoring to ensure the effectiveness of these controls Liaison with Treasury Compliance and Group Compliance to ensure that Treasury and Group compliance controls and requirements are included in operational procedures
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Previous knowledge and experience of the Financial Services industry is required Previous experience in process documentation A proven track record within retail banking regulation and implementation at Operations Management level 3 years retail deposits experience desirable Project management experience desirable Regulatory software knowledge desirable
